Welcome to PDX Fencing
home of World Champion Team member, Sherry Green; 5 time, National Saber Champion Malia Hee, National Wheelchair Champions Leo Curtis and Vikki Espinosa, 2014 National men's champion, Logan Spear, 2016 State saber champions Joy Yun, Lynn Zhang, Spencer Dillree, Zoe Beal, Csaba Rozgonyi, Cheryl Maslen and some of the best fencers in the country. We teach the Olympic and Paralympic sport of saber fencing in a fun, family oriented environment. Our dedicated, passionate staff, fencers and parents look forward to welcoming anyone who is interested in learning more about this exhilarating sport. Fencing attracts a wide range of individuals, often called physical chess it's a tactical and strategic sport at high speed. Age ranges from age 7 to 90. Fencers of all ages compete locally, regionally, nationally and internationally - whatever the individual desires. We are a proud member of the United States Fencing Association, and a Paralympic Fencing Sports Club through Oregon Disability Sports.
We offer youth and adult competitive and recreational programs, winter & Summer Camps, school, after-school fencing classes, wheelchair fencing, and amazing fitness classes. In addition we do birthday scout, and group parties (also Corporate Team Building) in our state of the art facility. Fencing develops agility, balance, discipline, coordination, good sportsmanship, mental acuity and creative problem solving. Want to learn to fence? Our facility has a specialized floor making it easier on ankles, knees and hips, air-conditioning, heat, Wi-Fi, home-work area, office work area for parents, lockers, comfortable waiting area, a spectator viewing area, children's play area, snack & drink machine. Club members enjoy discounts oh equipment, camps and private lessons. We are fully wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchair Fencing Program
We are proud to offer wheelchair saber fencing for men and women, ages 8 and above. Download our wheelchair fencing brochure here. Our Leo Curtis and Vikki Espinosa are both multi-year National saber wheelchair champions. Both are on Team USA, Leo is happy to be one of the coaches in our wheelchair program. We are very proud to be the fencing arm of the Oregon Sports Disability program, all current members of O.D.S. are welcome to join in our seated fencing classes.
